Joaquin Consuelos, Kelly Ripa’s son, had surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery on his broken finger. CastCoverz! sent a care package for Joaquin to Kelly’s show LIVE! with Kelly and Michael.  He received the CastShield, a waterproof cast cover for bathing/showering, a custom Armz! cast cover in “Wicked Webs”, and a Slingz! arm sling in “The Hand Bone’s Connected to…” just in time for Halloween!

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Rene Syler of Good Enough Mother is spotlighting breast cancer survivor stories during the month of October.

CastCoverz! owner and founder, Annette Giacomazzi, was honorably chosen and we’re proud to share her story and a few of her breast cancer survivor tips in Survivor Stories:  Annette Giacomazzi

In this spotlight, Good Enough Mother asked Annette:  “If you could send one message to all the Good Enough Mothers out there, what would it be?”  She answered, “Intentionally eliminate everything that is non-essential and increase what is meaningful.”

In support of all those who are fighting the fight and those fighting to find a cure, CastCoverz! will be donating 10% of the net proceeds for the entire month of October to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure fund.  Annette Giacomazzi launched CCZ! the same year she was diagnosed with breast cancer.  She is definitely a survivor and a thriver!

Ugly, Uncomfortable, Standard Crutches No More

Having a broken bone in your leg is no fun, but having a non-weight-bearing injury is even worse! “Getting from point A to point B is no longer as easy as getting up and walking where you want to go. Breaking a bone is certainly no fun, especially during summertime!  Harlisha Homer, a mom and blogger for Macaroni Kid, is not a fan of broken bones, but quickly became a fan of CastCoverz!, when her youngest son broke two bones on a swing this past June, during a family reunion.  She wrote a thoughtful review titled “A Broken Bone, and How CastCoverz! Saved the Day“, which you can read in it’s entirety on the Macaroni Kid-SW Houston-Missouri City Blog.

Her poor son was traumatized and Harlisha, bless her heart, tried everything she could to make him comfortable enough to get some sleep, which was not an easy challenge!
