Part 3:  How to Bling Your Crutches!

No one wants to be on crutches.  They hurt your hands, your arms, and they certainly hurt your sense of style; and, we all know the frustration of how even the simplest of tasks (carrying keys, a water bottle, cell phone, etc) becomes unmanageable while on crutches. That’s why CastCoverz! brings you the most comfortable, beautiful, expressive, and practical CrutchWear®on the market.  But first, let’s talk about some ideas if you’re stuck with those ugly, standard issue crutches.

Get creative and think outside the box to bling those babies up.  How about using some leopard print duct tape and ribbon to fashionize your crutches?  Other clever ideas include blinging them up with sparkly rhinestones, covering them up with your favorite stickers or decals, and how about permanent markers?  Use colorful markers to create your own design or have your friends and family autograph them.  If these ideas don’t strike your fancy or you just aren’t the creative type, ask your friends for suggestions, or better yet…have a crutch decorating party…Oh-so-fun!!!  Whatever you do, make them yours!  Please send us your pictures.  We’ll include your design in future posts.

CastCoverz! has gone PINK!

In support of all those who are fighting the fight and those fighting to find a cure, CastCoverz! will be donating 10% of the net proceeds for the entire month of October to the Susan G. Part 2:  How to Bling Your Cast!

Did you know pink neon casts are fading away?  So are the green neon, black, and blue casts, due to rising medical expenses.  Many doctors are choosing not to carry colored casting tape anymore, so you really have to be creative to bling that cast!

Decorating your cast can be lots of fun with so many creative options out there.  The timeless standard is having your friends autograph your cast.  But, make sure your artistic friends get the big, bold markers!  🙂

You can deck out your cast with decals and tattoos too!   Have you seen Duck® Brand tape lately?  You can sport soccer balls, flames, flowers, or camo with their designs!  Pick up a roll at your local office supply store.

Those are all great suggestions, but some are permanent and your clothes still get snagged, furniture gets scratched (common complaints of rhinestone applications) and they still get sooo dirty!  And some of us just didn’t get the creative gene.

Kids and Sports Injuries – Keeping Them Safe

Even though the month of September and Child Safety Month are coming to a close, we wanted to leave you with some ever important information to help you keep your children safe, while playing sports, all year long!

Did you know more than 3.5 million children suffer injuries, while playing sports, that are severe enough to require medical attention? Keeping your kids active in sports is healthy and fun, but it can also put them at risk of injury.  Most of these injuries are preventable.

The most common types of injuries that occur during youth sports are ankle sprains, muscle strains, broken bones, heat-related conditions, and more recently, concussions.  Safe Kids USA teaches parents, youth coaches, and children themselves about prevention and preparation regarding sports related injuries. They encourage parents and coaches to know and practice the rules of safety during practices and on game day.
