CastCoverz! tagline, “Covering the world one injury at a time” has served us well for the last two years. However, we don’t think it properly conveys our fresh, easy, customer-centric brand and extensive line of products. As you know CastCoverz! produces a wide variety of cast covers. But, we’ve expanded to include covers for boots, braces and splints, too. In addition, we have 3 new product lines coming out this spring (stay tuned!) So, we thought it was time for a new tagline, too. We put pen to pencil and came up with a few options. Would you please vote on your favorite (but keep reading…special surprise at the end). Drum roll, please:

We certainly don’t have the corner on creativity. In fact, some of our best ideas, came from our customers. So, for those of you that are real creative, get those creative juices flowing! Come up with a customer and family tag-line (or two or three) that is (are) truly unique. If we select your tag-line idea, you will receive a free t-shirt and exposure from publicity generated and on our FaceBook page, this blog, our web-site and we’ll Tweet about it, too! ‘Tis the season…for broken bones?

Winter is a beautiful season, but it can be very dangerous and painful if you’re not careful!

Ask anyone what the #1 reason is for broken arms and broken legs during the winter and the answer you most often hear is, “slipping and falling on ice.” That is actually a distant second to the number one reason, winter sports (ice hockey, ice skating, sledding, skiing, snowmobiling, snowboarding, snow tubing and tobogganing).

The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons noted that in 2008, 650,000 hospital Emergency Rooms and doctor’s visits were due to winter sports-related injuries. Surprisingly, slipping and falling on a patch of ice accounts for only 5,800 visits. Setting up lights, indoor or outdoor, produces a significant number of broken bones, too. CastCoverz! was just featured in the Sioux City Journal. The young man modified an Armz! to cover his hand cast with buddy finger casting. Too bad he didn’t know about Gutterz! because he has a gnarly looking cast. In the article, Dr. Beck of Prairie Pediatrics recommends “weatherproofing a cast” and CastCoverz! products are just the prescription to keep snow and wind out of healing bones and their casts.
