Joaquin Consuelos, Kelly Ripa’s son, had surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery on his broken finger. CastCoverZ! sent a care package for Joaquin to Kelly’s show LIVE! with Kelly and Michael. He received a custom Armz! in “Wicked Webs” and a Slingz! in “The Hand Bone’s Connected to…” just in time for Halloween!
Dancing with the Stars contestant Kelly Monaco suffered a broken toe on her right foot during rehearsals for Monday night’s show. She finished rehearsals without a word about the injury. Unfortunately, “there’s nothing you can do with a broken toe but tape it and call it a day.”, said Kelly. She fought through the pain and performed her dance for the show that night. Now that’s determination!
New York Yankees incurred 2 losses this past week. All-star shortstop Derek Jeter fractured his left ankle during Saturday night’s playoff game against the Detroit Tigers. Jeter was fielding a ground ball in the 12th inning and ended up rolling over and landing awkwardly on his already weak ankle. And relief pitcher Joba Chamberlain was hit, in his already surgically repaired pitching elbow, by a flying broken bat. The x-rays were negative, but his status is still unclear. What luck, hang in there Yankees!
Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis tore his tricep muscle and top cornerback Ladarius Webb tore his left anterior cruciate ligament in their game vs. the Dallas Cowboys. Webb is done for the year and Lewis’ injury may be career-ending, given that he said he would quit when his eldest son started playing in college. Only time will tell.
Dallas Cowboys running back DeMarco Murray had an MRI of his sprained left foot, which showed ligament damage, but thankfully no break. Murray suffered the injury late in their loss to the Ravens. He will be evaluated on a week-by-week basis.
Buffalo Bills defensive end Mark Anderson will need surgery on his left knee and is out indefinitely. He suffered the injury during Sunday’s loss to the 49ers.
