Philadelphia Flyers forward Max Talbot has been ruled out indefinitely with a broken left leg.  The injury occurred during a game and no timetable has been released for his return.

Carolina Hurricanes defenseman Joni Pitkanen is out for the rest of the season with a broken heel after going hard into the boards racing to beat an icing call.  Pitkanen broke his left calcaneus bone and is expected to miss 10-12 weeks.

In Basketball:

Denver Nuggets forward Danilo Gallinari tore his left anterior cruciate ligament (ACL.)  He will have season-ending surgery soon and his prognosis for a full recovery is excellent!  The injury occurred when Gallinari planted his left leg awkwardly while going for a layup.

New York Knicks forward Rasheed Wallace is expected to miss another 8 weeks due to a broken bone in his left foot, also known as a Jones Fracture, which will require surgery.
