Most Recent, Most Notable Sports Injuries

Here are your most recent, most notable broken bones and torn ligaments in the sports world over the past couple of weeks…

In Football:

Tampa Bay Buccaneerslinebacker Quincy Black suffered a neck injury and is having complications with his left arm.  There is no spinal damage and he will be okay, but they still need to get to the bottom of his arm complications.

Ben Roethlisberger

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was injured in the 3rd quarter of Monday night’s game and was taken to the hospital to be evaluated for a right shoulder injury.  The injury occurred when he was sacked and took the crown of a helmet into his shoulder…Ouch!  He may be in need of a CastCoverZ! Slingz! arm sling.

O’Brien Schofield, linebacker for the Arizona Cardinals, was placed on the injured reserve because of torn ligaments in his left ankle and will need surgery to repair the damage.

And finally, 3 quarterbacks were sidelined Sunday due to concussions.  Michael Vick, Alex Smith, and Jay Cutler were “knocked out” of games in the first half and leaving their teams wondering if they’ll be able to play next week.

In Basketball:

Brandon Rush, Golden State Warriors top reserve, had an MRI which revealed a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.  He will have season-ending surgery and need to rehabilitate his knee for at least 9 months.  Rush is devastated.

Kyle Lowry

Toronto Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry injured his right ankle after a harmless stumble at the end of typical play.  Not sure how long he’ll be out, but he left the arena wearing a protective walking boot and is headed to New York for further evaluation.  Did you know BootGuardz! will protect his boot from the rain, slush, and snow?

The Indiana Pacers announced that star forward Danny Granger received an injection to treat left patellar tendinosis, also known as “jumper’s knee”.  His recovery time will be about 3 months.
